Ekos continues to invest in growth with two key leadership hires

Vice presidents hired to lead product and customer success teams

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 18, 2021)Ekos, the leading business management software for craft breweries, cideries, and family wineries, recently made two new hires to its leadership team: Rachel Hoppe, vice president of product, and Melissa Theiss, vice president of customer success. The company, which recently celebrated its seven year anniversary, is continuing to invest in talent to propel its next stage of growth.

“Ekos is at a major precipice of growth — the next few years are going to be critical for us as we take our long-term vision and turn it into the platform that will transform the craft beverage business. This growth will not be possible without a talented, experienced, and dedicated leadership team,” said Josh McKinney, CEO of Ekos. “Rachel and Melissa will lead two core areas of our business and will help us make the right decisions to enable our customers to make more, today and in the future.”

Rachel Hoppe brings to Ekos more than twelve years of product experience at B2B software companies. She previously led and grew product organizations at two Charlotte-area software companies, AvidXchange and AMTDirect. At Ekos, Rachel is responsible for building and expanding the company’s product roadmap, growing and mentoring employees on the product team, and working closely with the engineering and design teams.

“Ekos has established itself as the go-to software for the craft beverage industry, and the team has big ideas on how to enhance the product experience and launch even more capabilities that will drive value,” said Rachel Hoppe, vice president of product at Ekos. “I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to lead the product team and help craft manufacturers streamline processes, discover insights, and grow their businesses.”

Melissa Theiss comes to Ekos from Quorum, a Washington, D.C. B2B SaaS start-up, where she was a founding member of the executive team. At Quorum, Melissa oversaw growth from 20 to more than 150 employees, built the customer success organization, and served as the executive sponsor of inclusion and diversity. In her role at Ekos, Melissa will manage the customer success, customer implementation, and technical support teams to ensure that every Ekos customer has a positive experience throughout their lifecycle.

“Everything about Ekos drew me in — from the founders’ compelling long-term vision to the team’s day-to-day dedication to helping beer, wine, and cider producers scale their businesses,” said Melissa Theiss, vice president of customer success at Ekos. “I’m looking forward to working with the Ekos team to craft a customer experience that is so delightful that customers want to tell the world about it.”
