Ekos expands leadership team with new CTO

Patrick Milburn brings 25 years of software and technology leadership experience

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Aug. 25, 2021) – Ekos is continuing to build out its leadership team with the hire of Patrick Milburn as Chief Technology Officer. In his role, Patrick will oversee all aspects of technology at Ekos, including software engineering, operations and information technology and security.

Patrick is an experienced technology leader who brings to Ekos 25 years of success in developing engineering teams and innovative software. He cultivated his career at McKesson, working his way from a senior software engineer to the executive director of solution architecture. He then served on the executive team as senior vice president of software engineering at AvidXchange and as chief technology officer at software company AMTDirect before their acquisition by MRI Software.

“On our journey to empower craft beverage makers, one of our most important activities is to improve our existing software and deliver new, innovative solutions to the market. We need a strong team leader to help us actualize our vision,” said Josh McKinney, CEO of Ekos. “Patrick has the experience necessary to build and optimize our development team, while also helping us build the infrastructure so Ekos can continue to grow.”

The CTO role at Ekos had previously been held by co-founder Greg Forehand. With Patrick’s addition to the leadership team, Greg has moved into the role of Chief Innovation Officer.

“It was an easy decision for me to want to be a part of this great team and its success,” said Patrick Milburn, CTO at Ekos. “The strong vision that CEO Josh McKinney has for the business and the team’s ability to back it up with results sets Ekos apart from other startups.”

Ekos has ambitious growth goals for the next 12 to 18 months and is actively hiring on all teams. To view open positions, visit goekos.com/careers.
