Ekos Publishes Research Results of Brewery and Cidery Technology Usage

The 2022 Building a Tech Stack Report highlights the tech solutions craft beverage businesses use to accelerate growth

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 31, 2022) – Managing the craft supply chain from raw materials to finished products to the end consumer is difficult even in the best of times. The current supply chain crisis has further highlighted the importance of visibility throughout this process. By using technology, craft business owners can connect their data and extract valuable insights so they can make the right decisions to save time, stay profitable and power growth.

Ekos, the leading business management software for the craft beverage industry, has published a new report that analyzes technology usage in beer and cider businesses: Building a Tech Stack: An Analysis of Breweries and Cideries. The report includes survey data from 450 breweries and cideries, ecommerce data from more than 1,600 craft producers, and qualitative data from in-depth interviews with small, medium and large breweries.

The 2022 edition of the report includes:

  • How breweries and cideries are adopting technology in 2022 versus our previous survey in 2020
  • The technology breweries say they can’t live without
  • What tools craft beverage businesses are using to manage inventory, production, DTC, distribution, and accounting processes
  • Tips for using technology to improve operational efficiency and streamline communication
  • Examples of how breweries of all sizes are building their tech stacks to accelerate growth

“In working with thousands of breweries and cideries, we’ve witnessed the inefficiencies throughout the craft supply chain that cause major roadblocks for business owners, especially those who are trying to manage their business through spreadsheets or manual methods,” said Josh McKinney, CEO of Ekos. “Our research has illuminated the impact that technology can have on small and medium businesses to reduce friction across the supply chain and increase visibility into business performance.”

The report is available for free beginning today. To download the white paper, visit the Ekos website.
