Established Charlotte brewery gains key insights into business with new software partner, Ekos

Birdsong Brewing Company is using Ekos to power visibility and accountability across the business

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 5, 2022) — Birdsong Brewing Company, a founding member of the Queen City’s booming craft brewery scene, is now using brewery management software Ekos to streamline all facets of their business.

Ekos is the leading brewery management software for breweries in the U.S., Canada and its hometown, the Charlotte-metro area. Its focus on inventory, production, sales and accounting ensures craft alcohol producers can focus more on making a great product and less on paperwork, data entry and manual record keeping. In addition to its expansive software, Ekos also integrates with POS, ecommerce and accounting systems to connect data across craft alcohol producers’ businesses.

“We chose Ekos because of its unique platform,” said Tara Goulet, founder of Birdsong Brewing. “With Ekos, we’re able to join our sales, distribution, taproom and production teams all into one interface. We’re looking forward to having detail-level reports on inventory, transparency for our departments and historical data on our customers. We expect that this will increase and maintain accountability for our sales reps, drivers and other staff members.”

Birdsong is one of Charlotte’s most established breweries that opened its doors in 2011. Tara and her husband, Chris, opened Birdsong when the pair decided they needed to step back from their careers and pursue something joyful. Luckily, Tara’s coworker, head brewer Conor Robinson, had started home brewing as a side hobby. The trio delved into research and brewing and created what is now a 6,000 bbl production brewery focused on giving back to the community and caring for the environment.

Tara says the team is excited to utilize Ekos’s specialized reporting features, production capabilities and modern inventory management system.

“Beginning a partnership with Birdsong Brewing means a lot,” said Ekos CEO Josh McKinney. “The craft beer scene in Charlotte has exploded since they opened their doors more than 10 years ago, and the Ekos team is honored to work with such an esteemed brewery in our own backyard.”

Ekos supports more than 40 breweries in the Charlotte-metro area, a city regularly named one of the top growing cities for breweries. Although Ekos works with more than 1,800 customers on six continents, the company has a deep affinity for craft producers in its home state of North Carolina. Ekos powers brewery management for some of Charlotte’s biggest breweries including Sycamore Brewing Co., NoDa Brewing Co., Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, and Legion Brewing Co.
